Gu15 Elite – Finalists at Far West Regionals


June 26, 2016, Boise, Idaho – G15 Elite’s run came to an end this am, falling 1-3 to Fc Salmon Creek Nemesis (WA) in the Far West Regional Final. The girls notched 5 wins on their way to the final against the following teams which included 4 State Cup champions from their respective states:

  • (2-1) Oceanside Breakers (Cal South – National Cup Champs),
  • (3-2) Broom Blast Prestige (Colorado – State Cup Champs),
  • (7-0) Heat Fc eg (Nevada),
  • (2-0 )LVASP 01 red (Nevada- State Cup Champs), – Quarterfinal
  • (2-1 ) Scottsdale Blackhawks (AZ – State Cup Champs), – Semifinal
  • (1-3) Fc Salmon Creek Nemesis (WA) – Final

Scarlett Cambreros led all goalscorers in the tournament with 8 goals.

The girls showed their strong possession style of play throughout the tournament. Congratulations to coach Ryan Marquez and the G15 ladies for a great showing!

RIV_6_U15GFC Salmon Creek used two early goals in the first half to move past Rebels SC Elite and claim the Under-15 Girls title. MacKenzie Frimpong began the scoring 10 minutes into the match, and Ava Bendetti would double Salmon Creek’s lead three minutes later with her goal. Malaika Quigley added another goal for the Oregon side in the 60st minute of the second half to make the score 3-0. Rebels would receive a goal from Jacqueline Barrientos in the 61st minute, but Salmon Creek would hold on for the 3-1 win. Below is the link to the final game: //


Congratulations to GU15 Elite team for winning the prestigious California Regional League (CRL). The win gives them an automatic berth to Far West Regionals in Boise, Idaho in June. Congratulations to Coach/DOC Ryan Marquez and the girls! The team caught fire in their last five games, outscoring their opponents 15-2 and shutting out 4 of those 5 games. Tremendous accomplishment to do, playing against the best teams in SoCal.
